cleaning

i am taking a break from cleaning to write a new post. cleaning is quite relaxing for me, to actually have the time to do it, and not worrying about having to wait for the king streetcar that NEVER comes. and when it does, there are always people spilling off the steps. i just took about three weeks worth of garbage and recycling away. despite the cold, the fruit flies are thriving inside the recycling bins. i just love how they fly out to say hello when i lift the lid to dump in my cans and papers. just kidding. it's disgusting.

yesterday i travelled to b-ville to see grandpa. he had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor a week ago friday. i was happy to see him so alert, and talkative. because of his hearing aid, we all had to talk really loud so he could hear us. and then this past thursday, the doctors said he could go home. yesterday he was complaining about the air being too dry, so jane and karen went out and got him a humidifier, so i am hoping that will make him more comfortable. we found him in his room picking out numbers for a lottery ticket. hah, nothing's changed at least. i hope he'll recover enough so that he'll be able to go for his coffee runs again soon.

well back to cleaning for me. i am also trying to do a bit of decorating. so much has been going on that i haven't been able to prepare at all for the holidays, or enjoy the season. there's an incoming storm, so i'm going to try to run up to queen street before it hits. plus, i have to do work - like my job-work stuff (blech) - tonight. i am SO sick of work. i will write more later about my recent vancouver trip.
