tooth fairy

i've got a few days off from work and am watching a re-run of the ellen show. the first lady (before she became first lady) is on the show talking about how her daughter was visited by the tooth fairy. it reminded me of when i lost teeth as a child, and how i was also visited by the tooth fairy. it was so long ago, that i can't even remember whether i actually believed in it, or i really knew it was one of my parents. also, how would my chinese parents even know what a tooth fairies were and what they were supposed to do?

i remember the bedroom door opening, squinting through the hallway light at my mom as she came in, and shoved money under my pillow. i had almost forgotten about that. it also reminded me of that scary movie from a few years ago called "darkness falls", about the evil "tooth fairy" that terrorizes a small town. way to ruin it for all the other kids.
