getting organized, slowly but surely

what a week of pure laziness on my part. i start a new job on monday, but to make up for only having two weeks of holiday to start, i treated this week as a third week i'm losing out on. i had a list of things to do, and i crossed off quite a few things, but not everything. it's all the food network's fault.

on tuesday, jane let me come to her office to print and fax my offer to my new company. i left there, and made a mad run down spadina to my old office, ironically. when we were laid off, they offered us help with our resumes and other job search related services. when hr called to ask if i was interested in the job workshop, i was big bag of bitterness. "are you kidding? you think i want to sit in a boardroom and get tips from you?" i learned from another victim of the firing squad, that he was going in to have his resume reviewed. on second though, since my resume was such a disaster, i decided to email hr to and get my resume whipped into shape. i'm glad i did, she really helped and pointed out some really bad errors - errors that were in the resumes i had sent out! it mustn't have mattered since i received an offer from the one place.

on wednesday, we took a trip to b-ville to see grandma because she ended up in emergency the night before. it was pretty scary, but it was good to see her and make sure she was ok. it's times like these that i wished i lived closer to home. she ate and laughed a lot, so she was in good spirits.

on thursday i took down the balcony christmas lights, organized my bathroom cupboard, watched more foodtv... then went out to try and get my passport photo taken. i did some price comparisons, and learned that black's photography is a rip off. i walked to bay street and met rosie and andrea for dinner at mercatto before they headed off to the michael bubbly (buble) concert. i decided to go shopping at the mall, and then walked all the way home. it felt nice to be out walking. you know you need it when the muffin tops have baked a little too much and start spilling over the edge of your pants.

i finally got my passport renewal papers sent out by registered mail today, met up with craig and some ex co-workers for dinner and drinks, and came home with a headache. i managed to organize the mess of digital photos on my laptop. i came across some from a lieu day i took almost a year ago. nancy and i walked all around downtown that day, but started out having dim sum at the bright pearl. this is a blurry picture (of her) posing with the lion by the entrance.
